What does LIQ Sweep Hunter do?
LIQ Sweep Hunter is a liquidity-based trading indicator for NinjaTrader 8 designed to help traders enter the market after liquidity has been swept – not while stops are still being hunted.
Instead of predicting direction, the indicator tracks a structured liquidity process:
- Liquidity gets triggered
- Liquidity Sweep occurs
- Control shifts
- The market reveals which side gains dominance
LIQ Sweep Hunter focuses on how liquidity is activated around:
- Swing highs and swing lows
- Volatility-based trailing stops
- Areas where stop losses and breakout orders cluster
By identifying these liquidity events, the indicator helps traders position themselves after the trap is complete – when real direction begins.
How can LIQ Sweep Hunter improve your trading performance?
Here’s how LIQ Sweep Hunter strengthens your execution and market understanding:
- Enter after the sweep, not during stop hunts
- Identify where clustered stop losses are likely activated
- Avoid false breakouts and liquidity traps
- Place smarter stops using structural invalidation logic
- Track capital behavior during liquidity events
- Position early in expansion phases instead of chasing moves
- Suitable for scalpers, intraday traders, and swing traders
Rather than reacting emotionally to breakouts, you trade once the market confirms which side has gained control.
Key features
See how LIQ Sweep Hunter identifies liquidity events using structured, objective logic.
Volatility-based trailing stop
Estimates where hidden stops cluster by treating trailing stops as liquidity footprints — revealing activation zones even without clear swing highs or lows.
Liquidity zone
Highlights where trading activity concentrates and which side (buy or sell) is dominant — adding context before and during sweeps.
Liquidity pool
Defines the structural boundary of a valid sweep — where stops trigger, aggressive orders enter, and large participants complete execution. Provides clear invalidation levels.
Money flow chart
Two execution modes. One Liquidity framework.
LIQ Sweep Hunter provides two structured execution approaches.
Mode 1: Follow direction
Designed for scalpers and intraday traders trading continuation within active trends.
How it works
Step 1 – Internal Liquidity Sweep
Price trades beyond short-term swing highs/lows and breaches the trailing stop line, triggering internal stop clusters.
Step 2 – Liquidity Pool formation
A Liquidity Pool is defined. This pool establishes the structural boundary of the sweep and the invalidation level.
Step 3 – Continuation confirmation
The indicator monitors behavior inside the Liquidity Pool. A signal appears only if the sweep stabilizes and the underlying trend shows readiness to resume.
This mode helps traders enter early in impulse continuation after internal liquidity is cleared.
Mode 2: Counter direction
Designed for swing traders positioning around major structural reversals.
How it works
Step 1 – Major level projection
The indicator identifies significant historical swing highs and lows and projects them forward as active liquidity levels.
Step 2 – Structural break
Price trades beyond the projected level, triggering clustered stops and breakout participation. Delta at the moment of the break is recorded.
Step 3 – Return to broken level
Within a defined number of bars, price must return to the breakout support/resistance zone.
Step 4 – Delta confirmation
Delta at the return is compared with Delta at the breakout.
If the return Delta opposes the breakout Delta, the move is more likely a liquidity-driven break rather than true continuation.
A signal appears only when this reversal logic is structurally confirmed.
Key benefits
Enter after the sweep — Not during It
Signals appear only once the liquidity sweep is complete.
This helps you avoid becoming part of the stop hunt and instead trade after the market reveals real direction.
Smarter stop placement with Liquidity Pool
Liquidity Pool defines the structural boundary of a valid sweep.
Stops are placed using clear invalidation logic rather than crowded swing highs or lows.
Track large-player behavior with money flow
The integrated Money Flow chart helps you observe whether liquidity is being absorbed or distributed before the next expansion move unfolds.
Position early in expansion phases
Entries are designed to occur at the beginning of new impulse moves, allowing participation in early expansion instead of chasing extended price action.
